What is asthma? What causes asthma?
Asthma is a chronic inflammation of the airways of the lungs, which are inflamed even when you're not having symptoms.
Due to inflammatory triggers or syptom triggers of asthma,
the airway constriction and inflammation together cause the narrowing of airways,
which can result in wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, or shortness of breath.
Usually, the immune systems of patients with asthma are out of balance, either over-active or
under-active due to inflammatory triggers, such as dust mites, pet animals, cockroaches, molds, pollens, viral infections, and certain air
pollutants. The inflamed tissues produce an excess amount of "sticky" mucus into the tubes.
The mucus can clump together and form "plugs" that can clog the smaller airways.
Under the disfunctional immune system controling, those mucus pruduced by inflamed tissues, sticking to
the surface of special cells of the airway of the lungs, cause asthma attacks.

About Asthma
Asthma is a serious respiratory disease that literally leaves its victims breathless.
People with asthma usually have a combination of problems in the lungs: bronchial muscle spasms,
swelling of mucus linings, and increased mucus production. When a susceptible person is exposed to
a trigger, such as environmental irritants, allergens, heavy exertion, or even anxiety, the passages
inflame further and block air from flowing freely, resulting in an asthma attack. In a severe attack,
a person who doesn't receive emergency medical care can suffocate.
In America, the number of people with asthma has increased by one-third in the last decade,
probably because of pollution, the effects of emotional stress, and a Western diet that's high in additives,
meat products, and fats, all of which can caue inflammation and excess mucus production, Alarmingly,
the incidence of asthma continues to rise among children. It is most common in children under the age of ten.
Nutritional supplements, diet, bodywork, and other therapies can go a long way toward preventing and relieving asthma,
but if you suffer from this potentially life treatening disease, you also need to be under the care of a good doctor.
Other nutritional supplements Recommanded
Vitamine B12 reduces the reaction to sulfites that causes asthma symptoms in some people,
especially in children, Take 1,500 mcg orally or 400mcg sublingually.
Vitamine B6 has been found to be low in people who have asthma. In addition,
asthma medications may lower B6 leverals in the body. Take 100 to 200 mg daily.
Lycopene is an antioxidant that has been shown to reduce exercise-induced asthma.
Take 30 mg daily of a natural Lycopene complex.
Take 4 to 8 grams fish oil daily. It helpful for preventing asthma. It may take
four to eight weekd for you to notice an improvment.
Root Causes of Asthma
Triggers that bring on an attack vary from person to person but most oftern include
    * Allergies, either environmental or food
    * Pollution and irritants
    * Infections(colds, flu, or other respiratory infections)
    * Cold Air
    * Heavy physical exertion
    * Poor digestive function
    * Hormone imbalance
    * Emotional stress
Important: If you experience a severe asthma attack, get emergency help at once.
Have someone call an ambulance or drive you to the hospital, where you will receive medication
to open your air passages.
Recommanded Food
Eat a simple, light diet, based on foods that don't promote mucus productions:raw vegetables
and fruits, seeds, whole grains, lean poultry, and fresh fish.
carotenoids are antioxidants that have natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits.
They are found in dark-green leafy vegetables and deep-yellow and orange vegetables.
Studies show that children who eat fish more than once a week have one-third the risk of developing asthma.
Garlic and onions have anti-inflammatory properties and are a savory addition to vegetable dishes.
A glass of clean water every two waking hours will help keep your system clean. Water is especially helpful
after an asthma attack to break up mucus.
Ground flaxseeds are an execllent source of anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids. For children over
five years of age, use to 2 teaspoons, and for adults, the dosge is 1 to 2 tablespoons daily.
Food to Avoid
It is most improtant to discover whether certain foods provoke allergic reactions. In general,
it is best to buy whole foods and prepare them yourself, so that you are aware of their content, but if you must
buy packaged food, learn how to read lables and scrutinize them carefully. Food preservatives and artifical
colorings or flavorings can be at the root of food reactions.
Food sensitivities can gengerally be rotated in the diet, until you become desensitized to
the offending food.
Even if you don't have an allergy to dairy products, eliminate them from your diet. They encourage the production
of mucus that plugs your airways. For the same reason, stay from sugar, junk food, and fried and refined foods.
Do not eat foods that contain additives or preservatives. This means avoiding processed foods, dried or smoked foods,
and salad bars, which are often sprayed with preservatives, such as tartrazine(yellow dye number5), red dye,
sulfites(as found in dried fruits), benzoates, and monosodium glutamate(MSG)
Never eat frozen or extremely cold foods, which can cause the muscles in your airways to tighten.
Keep pressure off your diaphragm by eating small meals and by avoiding foods that cause gas, such as beans and
Crucifeous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts are the most common offenders).
Detoxification
Every three months, consider doing a tree-day vegetable cleansing juice fast expel mucus. Also, Daily
consumption of super green foods, such as chlorella and spirulina, is recommended.
Testing Techniques for Asthma
The following tests can give you an assessment of possible metabolic
reasons for your asthma:
Food allergy/sensitivity testing - blood, electrodermal testing
Vitamin and mineral analysis - blood
Candida and flora balance - stool analysis
Toxic metals - hair or urine analysis
    Intestina permeability - urine
Stress hormones DHEA and cortisol - Saliva or Urine

Historical usage OF Cordyceps Sinensis:
Cordyceps sinensis, known to the Chinese as ¡°TungChongXiaCao/DongChongXiaCao¡±,
has been used in herbal medicine for a very long time. The first known written record
of this herbal medicine was in the Ben-Cao-Cong-Xin (New Compilation of Materia Medica)
by the author Wu-Yiluo. Written around the year 1757 AD during the Qing Dynasty,
this early medical text lists the traditional usage of Cordyceps
Practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine believe that Cordyceps Sinensis, having a sweetish taste and a warm
character, enters through the kidney and lung channels enhancing lung functioning, bolstering the kidneys yang
energy, increasing energy, relieving coughing, and lessening sputum. Clinically it is used to treat the
weakness of kidneys and lungs, poor vitality, impotence, spermatorrhea, asthma, aching back and knees, and general
debility caused by long-term illness.
Cordyceps Sinensis can also be used as a treatment for coughing blood or bloody sputum that may be caused by
tuberculosis, coughing and difficult breathing, and cold or sudden sweating. Modern medical research has
revealed that the codycepicacid in Cordyceps Sinensis can relax the bronchia and strengthen the adrenal
glands. It is recorded in the "Historical Annals of Szechuan" that Cordyceps Sinensis is classified as a
warm tonic agent, and is highly effective at replenishing the essence and strengthening the body.
In recent years, medical researchers have conducted many studies of Cordyceps Sinensis, and some new discoveries
have further expanded its scope as a curative agent.
Everyone knows that kanamycin and gentamicin are commonly-used antibiotics that have a wide range of clinical
application. However, their fatal weakness is that they have toxic side effects to the kidneys. In severe cases,
acute kidney failure can lead to death. Therefore, these antibiotics are termed "renal toxic antibiotics". Last
year, the prominent kidney specialist, Professor Li Shuo-shin, discovered that Cordyceps Sinensis can prevent the
kidney damage caused by antibiotics and other drugs without blocking their antibiotic effect. This result provides
a new safeguard measure to accompany the use of renal toxic antibiotics.
Hepatitis B is a grave threat to human health. It is estimated that 10% of the population in China is infected with
hepatitis B, which implies that over 100 million people are either suffering from hepatitis B or carry the
hepatitis B virus. At present, Western and Chinese medicine offer several dozen methods of treating hepatitis B,
but no one method is satisfactorily effective. Even very costly interferons can deliver effectiveness no greater
than 25-50%, and do little to prevent recurrence. Under the guidance of professor Xiao Sudong, graduate student
Wang Changcheng of the Shanghai Research Institute for Digestive Disorders performed research on hepatitis B viruses
carrying surface molecules from peripheral blood lymphocytes, and the effect of Cordyceps Sinensis on hepatitis B
viruses carrying surface molecules from peripheral blood lymphocytes, and the effect of lipopolysaccharides contai
ned in Cordyceps Sinensis on the cellular immune function of patients with chronic hepatitis B. The results of
this research proves that Cordyceps Sinensis is able to enhance the cellular immune function and that
lipopolysaccharides contained in Cordyceps Sinensis are even more effective in this regard. Because these
lipopolysaccharides are able to affect greater than 53.5% of the negative conversion of HBeAg, 68.4% of the
short-term negative conversion of hepatic B DNA, they may be able to replace interferons as a hepatitis B treatment.
Research conducted in Beijing has shown that most cases of cirrhosis of the liver occur in persons who are suffering
from chronic hepatitis B. Depending on the degree of advancement of the hepatitis B and the pathological changes
that have occurred in the liver, cirrhosis may gradually appear in many cases.
Cordyceps Sinensis and other Chinese traditional herbs can effectively arrest liver cirrhosis and can even reverse
the progression of early-stage cirrhosis.
Researcher Lin Ching-yuan of the Research Department of Veterans General Hospital in Taipei has announced that he
has isolated an active component of Cordyceps Sinensis that can stop the progression of immunoglobulin nephritis.
Immunoglobulin A nephritis in Asia, and currently lacks an effective means of treatment. 20% of those suffering
from this condition die of kidney failure. Cordyceps Sinensis can stop this condition from worsening, and clinical
trials have shown that it can also alleviate hematuria, albumimuria and edema.
