Chuan Xiong ( Radix Ligustici Chuanxiong )
is acrid, warm, and notoxic. It acts on the liver, gallbladder, pericardium channels.
WHY IT'S USED: It is one of the most effective herbs to invigorates blood and promote movement of Qi-energy.
It is uded to treat headaches, abdominal ache, chest pain, muscle pain, boils, difficulty in menses,
and amenorrhea. Because it dilates coronary arteries, lower resistant of the peripheral blood vessels and
improves blood flow. It has antibiotic effect and anti-coagulation property.It can resist effect of lack of
vitamin E and inhibit the activity of tyrosinase to eliminate age spots
and spreckles. It is a great herb to improve beauty.
COMMENTS AND CAUTIONS:
Use with caution during pregnancy.
Avoid in patients with excess menses or prone to bleeding.
Do not use for Yin deficiency with Heat, headaches from Liver Yang rising,
serious Qi Deficiency and in excessive menstrual bleeding.
Dosage: Radix Ligustici Chuanxiong / Chuan Xiong: 3-9g per day in decoction, 1-1.5 grams per day in powder
