Comman Name: Rhubar Root
Latin Name: Radix Et Rhizoma Rhei
Zhi Da Huang means cooked Da Huang.
It is bitter, cold and nontoxic and acts on stomach, large intetine, heart, and liver channels.
WHY IT'S USED: Da Huang/ Rhubar Root harmonizeds the Stomach and brings down the adverse sacending gas.
It eliminates excesive phlegm and accumulation of heat in the intestine, treats constipation, and
reduces epigastric and abdominal distention.
Da Huang/ Rhubar Root facilitates the movement of all kinds of qi, regulates blood circulation, and
facilitates the movement of joints. It disperses accumulation of fluid-retention. It treats malaria, and miasma.
It reduces Damp-Heat to treat jaundice or acute dysentery.
Da Huang/ Rhubar Root can clears heat from blood for bloody stool from hemorrhoids or heat in the intestines, epistaxis or hematemesis
from reckless movement of hot Blood. It is also good for swollen eyes, fire toxins, tidal fever,
delirium, and burns due to heat in the Blood or on the skin.
It is uded to treat amenorrhea, abdominal masses, tumors, and urinary dripping by invigorating blood.
COMMENTS AND CAUTIONS:
Do not use during menstruation, pregnancy, post-partum or during breast feeding.
Also contraindicated in exterior syndromes, cold from deficiency of the spleen and stomach,
and qi and blood deficiency. Long term usage is not recommended.
Dosage: 3 to 12 grams per day
